2026 Raffle Quilt

We’re excited to announce that the 2026 raffle quilt has been completed and is on display at Drury Lane Books! “Waawaate” (Northern Lights – Joyful Dancing Spirits) is another amazing creation from quilt artists Carol Morgen and Nancy Backlund. The intricately-pieced bargello-patterned front, exquisite back panel, and graceful, curved stitching truly capture the magic of our stunning Northern Lights.

The quilt measures 92 by 110 inches. For reference, a standard queen mattress measures 60 by 80 inches, with queen-sized quilts generally measuring 90-100 inches by 95-110 inches.

Quilt raffle tickets are $5 each and currently available for sale at Drury Lane Books. They will be available in other area locations as well beginning in May, including Johnson Heritage Post, Lockport Marketplace, and Care Partners offices.

The quilt raffle drawing will be held on Saturday, August 30th about 15 minutes before the close of our Annual Ice Cream Social which takes place at Sydney’s Frozen Custard from 2-4pm.

Thanks to Carol and Nancy, to our friends at Drury Lane Books, to the area businesses and organizations who sell tickets, and to all who purchase tickets to help us support older adults in Cook County on the journey of aging and end-of-life.

It’s almost done!
Drum roll, please!
