The rain stayed away, the frozen custard was delicious, the band sounded great, friends and neighbors enjoyed lovely conversation, the beautiful quilt went to a good home…and thanks to your generosity, more than $6,700 was raised to support Care Partners! YAY!!!

A HUGE thank you to the wonderful Bruce and team at Sydney’s Frozen Custard; our friends at Red Pine Realty and LutZen for giving up most of their parking lot; the amazing North Shore Swing Band; Care Partner’s always-stellar volunteers; and to everyone who contributed by buying a raffle ticket and/or making a donation at the Ice Cream Social! Thanks also to fabric artists Carol Morgen and Nancy Backlund who created another stunning raffle quilt, and to our fantastic raffle ticket partners – Drury Lane Books, Johnson Heritage Post, Lockport Marketplace, and Chicago Bay Marketplace. Congratulations to Geri J, the lucky winner of this year’s raffle quilt!

Care Partners’ Annual Ice Cream Social Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, August 30 from 2-4pm at Sydney’s Frozen Custard, 14 Broadway Avenue in Grand Marais. Make a donation, enjoy a delicious frozen custard sundae, say “hello” to friends and neighbors, get the scoop on volunteering at Care Partners, see our beautiful raffle quilt, and maybe purchase a raffle ticket (or three!) And we’re excited to announce that the North Shore Swing Band will again provide live music! All proceeds go to help Care Partners provide support and companionship for our community members on the journey of aging and end of life.
