For the safety and well-being of our clients and those who provide services to them, all Care Partners volunteers are required to submit an application, complete program training, and pass a background check.
Any additional program-specific requirements are outlined in the training materials below.

To continue the volunteer application and training process:
NOTE: If you are considering volunteering for more than one program, you are NOT required to complete multiple applications! Please reach out to our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Jennifer Janasie (contact information below) and let her know which program(s) you’re interested in.
For Chore Volunteer Training
- Complete a Chore Volunteer Application. You will sign the application when we meet in person (see “All Volunteers” below.)
- Chore Volunteer Application Link
- Click the link above and fill in the application electronically. When it’s completed, save it to your computer and print it out.
- If you aren’t able to print out the application, just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide a paper version for you.
- There are several ways you can return your completed application to us:
- Drop it off at our office (615 E Highway 61, Grand Marais.) If the office is closed when you stop by, you can place your application in the secure drop box next to the front door.
- Mail it to us: Care Partners, Attn: Jennifer, PO Box 282, Grand Marais, MN 55604
- Bring it with you when we meet in person (see below)

For Senior Rides Volunteer Training

Before beginning as volunteers, our Senior Rides drivers must also provide a copy of their auto policy declaration page showing at least $100,000 in liability insurance and a good driving record report from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office (details will be provided at our in-person meeting.)

FOR ALL PROGRAM TRAINING
Please contact Jennifer if:
- You would prefer to receive a hard copy of the application and training manual and we’d be glad to deliver or mail them to you, or arrange a time for you to pick them up from the Care Partners office.
- A reading-focused method of learning doesn’t work well for you so we can discuss other options for covering the material.
- You have any questions or concerns regarding the volunteer training process or materials.
