  • Connecting Caregivers: This monthly meeting is open to anyone who is caring for an older friend or family member, near or far, and offers a chance to visit with others who share the caregiving journey. Led by Care Partners volunteers Kathy Reeves and Kay Costello, the gathering takes place at 1pm the first Wednesday of each month at The Hub. No preregistration to remember, no books to read, no homework to do – just come when you can for a cup of coffee, a moment of rest, and the gift of connection.

  • Powerful Tools for Caregivers: This six-week series gives caregivers the skills to take care of themselves while caring for someone else. Powerful Tools for Caregivers is offered several times throughout the year – contact Care Partners office for the next class session dates.

  • Caregiver Education: Care Partners offers occasional classes and workshops in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and uses other nationally recognized curriculum to provide information and strategies for caregiving.

  • Memory Café: A Memory Café is a free, casual gathering where people with memory loss and the family or friends who care for them can come together in a safe, supportive, relaxed environment. Guests share conversations over a cup of coffee and games, crafts, music or other simple activities. Memory Cafés are not a form of respite care. Instead, they offer a place where both caregiver and care recipient can enjoy one another’s company and interact with others who share similar experiences. The Cook County Memory Café meets at The Hub the third Thursday of each month (April through October) from 1:00pm-2:30pm.

  • Annual Caregiver Retreat: Our yearly caregiver appreciation retreat provides an opportunity to enjoy a few hours of rest while exploring tools for brief moments of daily renewal.
