Companions befriend older adults through visits, telephone calls or outings. Volunteers are reimbursed for mileage and can choose assignments and schedules that work for them!

Companion training participants learn about safety, end-of-life, comfort measures, dementia, elder awareness, communication and more.

Current volunteers are always welcome to attend training – perhaps as a “refresher” course if it’s been a while since your first introduction to Care Partners, or to see if being a companion may be a good addition to your volunteering toolkit!

The 8-hour program will be held over three evening sessions: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 12-14, from 6-8:30pm. At this time we are planning to hold all three sessions via Zoom, but we hope to perhaps include some in-person time depending on the situation with COVID and availability of participants.
